GHS - Hazard Communication

Description
OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) requires that all employees who may be exposed to hazardous chemicals in the workplace receive training on the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals. This training is called the GHS-Hazardous Communications course.

The GHS-Hazardous Communications course provides an overview of the GHS and its requirements for hazard classification, labeling, and Safety Data Sheets (SDSs). The course also covers the following topics:

The scope and purpose of the Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) and the GHS

The types of hazards covered by the GHS, including physical, health, and environmental hazards

The criteria for hazard classification and the labeling requirements for hazardous chemicals

The contents and format of Safety Data Sheets (SDSs)

The role of employees in hazard communication, including how to read labels and SDSs, how to handle hazardous chemicals safely, and how to respond to chemical emergencies.

The GHS-Hazardous Communications course is designed to help employees understand the hazards associated with the chemicals they work with and to take appropriate precautions to protect themselves and others. By completing the course, employees will be better equipped to handle hazardous chemicals safely and to respond to chemical emergencies in the workplace.
